A Deemed-to-Satisfy (DTS) Energy Report is used to demonstrate that a building meets the minimum energy efficiency requirements set out in the National Construction Code (NCC).
This assessment provides a prescriptive compliance pathway, where building elements such as insulation, glazing, lighting, and HVAC are compared directly against standardized performance criteria.

When is a DTS Energy Report Used?

DTS is commonly used for:

• Non-residential projects where performance modelling is not required

If project complexity, glazing extent, or façade performance makes DTS non-compliant, we can also switch to a JV3 (performance modelling alternative) and advise the most efficient and economical pathway.
